From Fallen Trees to a Community Gathering Place: Living Earth Supports Neuhoff Dog Park

Living Earth Donates Recycled Mulch to Neuhoff Dog Park in Nashville
In the fall of 2026, Living Earth donated 240 cubic yards of recycled wood mulch to Neuhoff Dog Park in Nashville, Tennessee, helping create a community gathering space for Neuhoff residents and surrounding neighbors. Made entirely from trees that fell across Nashville during the February 2026 ice storm, the mulch arrived in four semi-truck loads and was spread throughout the park.
The project gives storm-damaged trees a useful second life while supporting an outdoor space where people can connect and their dogs can play.

Turning Nashville Storm Debris Into Recycled Wood Mulch
The mulch at Neuhoff Dog Park started as fallen timber from Nashville’s February 2026 ice storm. Living Earth’s team helped make the collection, processing, and delivery of that material possible, transforming storm debris into a resource for the community.
The project demonstrates how wood recycling can return recovered materials to use close to where they originated.
For Nashville residents, that connection is tangible: trees lost during a local storm now form part of a neighborhood gathering place.

A Community Dog Park at Neuhoff
Neuhoff Dog Park provides an outdoor space for Neuhoff residents and the surrounding Nashville community to gather, relax, and let their dogs play.
The park includes picnic tables and shade umbrellas where neighbors can spend time together, along with dog waste stations to support everyday use. These features help make the space welcoming for people as well as their pets.
The donated mulch was spread throughout the park, becoming part of a shared outdoor destination built around community connection.
The Living Earth Team Behind the Donation
Living Earth’s Troy Blackwood and Mark Gill helped lead the partnership. Their team supported the work needed to turn reclaimed storm timber into 240 cubic yards of mulch and deliver it to Neuhoff Dog Park.
Four semi-truck loads brought the material to the site, where it was spread throughout the space. The completed project reflects the coordination behind a local donation, from recovering fallen wood to putting the finished mulch to use.
Supporting Nashville Through Wood Recycling
Neuhoff Dog Park shows how recovered wood can contribute to a community project. Timber from Nashville’s ice storm became mulch for a place where neighbors can enjoy the outdoors together.
Living Earth is proud to support Neuhoff Dog Park and the people who helped bring it to life. It is a local example of our commitment to putting recovered materials to work and supporting the communities we serve.
